Fan Club

Here at Pet Treat Bakery, the taste testers are the adorable six: terrier Spike; Rocky the bichon/schitz tzu; the miniature apricot poodles, Jack and Jill; Deni the cat; and an adorable chocolate-brown feline with white bib and matching toes called Foxxy.

We’ve all tried lots of wholesome, natural recipes and the products you can now buy in Vancouver Island stores and at Comox Valley Farmers’ Market are the treats we love the most.

You might be wondering if your pet will feel just as pleased. Here are just a couple of out-of-the-blue reactions from pet owners:

Stanley
Back flipping appreciation: “Just though I would write a quick note to let you know how terrific Stanley – my dog – and I think your pet treats are. The pork liver treat had him so excited I thought he would do back-flips. He is a dachshund, so that’s not possible, but it comes close – and that happened before he had ever tried one! They are great for training. He knows his commands, but now with one in my pocket he actually follows them. He is very taken with the cheese pleasers as well.”

Bullet

An awesome hit: “Your treats were awesome hit with all my dogs. I won’t have to pick and choose next time as they liked them all. However, the dried liver and salmon seemed to be their favourite as Bess, Bullet and Callie were more than a little focused if that was the reward. As for me, I like the convenience of being able to keep the dried food in a container in the car – I can just slip a little into my pocket wherever we are and not have to worry about them turning to mush or crumbs.”

Terrific training treats: "Jane Neve provided me with a small portion of your treats as an incentive to make my puppy behave. They are crucial to his training. I am afraid that despite me breaking them up, he is going through them too fast. Could you send some up to me by mail? We are talking about 'liver' fragments I believe BTW, how many calories do these contain would you estimate? My fellow is 20% over-weight and I must be conscious of that. I will provide my address and Visa info below. Thanks."

Abi & ConerConsistently well made treats: "Carol, I spoke to you at the Farmers Market last Saturday. I tried to tell you how much we (well, Abi and Conor, the dogs) love your dried liver. Sorry I took so long to write this letter, but life is busy. We have a puppy! A Jack Russell puppy at that!! I was introduced to your dried liver treats by the Tree of Life Vet. It was late 2006. We had a JR named Nikki at the time. He was allergic to every-thing.
All he could eat without reacting was raw bison and kale .. until we found your dried liver. Yeah! Treats!!! We never did like "store bought" treats. They seemed plastic, and coated with chemicals. Right away I LOVED how clean and luscious your product is. .. and so consistently well made!! Someone is putting a lot of time, effort and love into making this product! I know I it would not possibly  be any better if I was to making it myself. Now we have a little puppy, and the liver treats have given us the power to rule, and maintain control. We are using a lot of it. Thinking we could save a few dollars, I bought some organic dried liver at a pet store last week. Well, I ended up throwing it out, and seeking you out at the market, because .. well .. we got 2 big bags of liver, and .. sending you this letter. I (we) appreciate what Edd and you do, and how you go about doing it. Thank you so much for that. I (we) appreciate that the dogs can benefit from the quality and care you put into what you do."

Patient Pet Treat Bakery Patron and Henry & BadgerDear Edd and Carol: I was visiting children and grandchildren near Courtenay a few weeks ago, and I discovered Pet Treat Bakery at a local farmers’ market. I bought one little package of treats, and now I wish I had bought more. I brought them home to our dogs (one could be Spike’s twin). They LOVED the treats. Tonight I finally decided to visit your web site. I was so enchanted by it that I thought I’d send these photos – perhaps for your “fan club”. One is a picture I took at the farmers’ market; the other is one of Badger (the big guy) and Henry (the one who looks so much like Spike). I’ll be back to the Island again. Next time I’ll stock up. The dogs insist on it. All the best, Francie Roberts, Westport, Ontario
